Earlier this month, Illinois Gov. Quinn signed off on a law which will prohibit the state from using federal funding for law enforcement to set up motorcycle-only traffic checkpoints. Virginia, North Carolina, and California have enacted laws prohibiting motorcycle-only checkpoints altogether. The AMA has been monitoring and lobbying against this practice. see AMA article
