Greetings LocalMotoHub member!
A bit of creativity never hurts, especially when it comes to solving health problems in developing countries. That was the impetus behind the eRanger, a motorcycle ambulance with a sidecar stretcher capable of driving through the African bush terrain. “Donated ambulances (from the West) won’t do 100 yards in Africa,” said Mike Norman, a British engineer who designed the motorcycle ambulance.
So far, Guinea, Malawi, Tanzania and South Africa have bought the ambulances, which sell for about $6,200. Last year, George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon and others donated $250,000 to UNICEF in Southern Sudan specifically to buy the vehicles.

The National Motorcycle Museum in Anamosa, Iowa, just received another vintage motorcycle. The 1968 Laverda American Eagle, owned by Ed and Joann Dybala of Downers Grove, Illinois, will be on display at the museum for two years. This 750cc twin is one of fewer than 150 American Eagle bikes that were sold in the US. Thanks to Ed and Joann for their generosity to the motorcycling community.
If two wheels are one too many for you
check out the the electric-powered unicycle from Ryno Motors. With a top speed of 20 mph and a range of 30 miles between charges coupled with the charging units that are already contracted to be installed in the Chicago area, this might just become the ulimate urban vehicle! Wonder how it would work with a snow tire and chains? Check it out.
Once is not enough? Obviously not for Iron-Butt rider Tom Loegering. After riding eight and a half days though 49 states this Iron Butt-er took a second lap! Tom rides a 2005 BMW LT1200, and did I mention he's 73? Congratulations Tom and we wish you many more miles.
