Greetings LocalMotoHub member!
It's a busy time for the local riding community. Last weekend was Mods vs Rockers where over 1000 (my unofficial estimate) bikes and scooters, many of them looking their Saturday best, were on display. You name the brand - it was there - three blocks of Lincoln Avenue turned into Two-Wheel Only parking.
We at LocalMotoHub had the pleasure of watching the festivities and talking to new and old friends about bikes and riding. In addition to signing up almost 50 new members we received over a dozen new road and destination ideas that have now been added to the site!
The Illinois House and Senate passed HB2860 Dead Red Light Bill which will allow motorcycle riders to "proceed through stop signals after a reasonable amount of time". The bill needs the Governor's signature to become law. We'll see what he does since it's opposed by the Illinois State Police.
And speaking of governors - in Illinois our ex-governors tend to relocate to smaller quarters (10x10?). Not in Alabama. Last week Alabama's ex-governor, Bob Riley, rode his brand new Harley Road Glide through Chicago on his way to Alaska. The trip is scheduled to take six weeks and he's riding solo. Sounds much more scenic that cinder blocks and bars on windows.
Hey something's wrong here - doesn't Alabama have a helmet law?

Organized event not your thing? Longing for the open road? Check out www.LocalMotoHub.com for suggestions on places to ride. Here’s an idea from several of our members: take a ride out to
Ottawa on Rt. 71 and stop for a bite at the Cheese Shop and Deli. Or if you're looking for a longer ride check out the
Potosi Brewing Company restaurant and museum in southwest Wisconsin.
When you take a ride or attend an event - let us know by adding new entries or commenting on existing destinations, roads, or the event you attended.
The first three members who do will receive a TENSPOT (as in cash)!
To those of you who have visited the site recently, thanks! If not, please check us out - we continue to add new events and destinations every day.
Remember to "be careful out there" and keep the rubber side down!
